Our Story

Beginnings...

The church was founded in 1995 as the Cowboy Church of Peyton by Dave and Beverly Schumpert. Dave and Beverly faithfully ministered to families in the Peyton area for 28 years.  Their work included leading the church in the acquisition of property and the construction of church buildings.



New Pastor ...

Pastor Brett Lutz and his wife, Stephenie, come back to Colorado after spending the last three years in Louisville, KY.  The Lord took Pastor Brett and Stephenie to Louisville in 2019 so that Brett could pursue his Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Brett and Stephenie are excited to be back in Colorful Colorado and serving in the Peyton area. Pastor Brett has started his teaching ministry at Generations Church and looks forward to sharing the Gospel message with the surrounding community. 

A New Name and Strategy ...

The church voted in 2019 to change its name to the  Generations Church of Peyton and update its organization structure. The organizational changes included moving to an elder council for leadership. We  are blessed by having a wide range of generations participating in the church: from great-grandparents to young families with small children. The greater Peyton area is growing and changing from a primary ranching culture to a wide variety of occupations, young and older families and single people, all of whom need to experience the love of God expressed through Jesus Christ. The church has adopted 3 major values to more effectively minister in the Peyton area.
Generations Church of Peyton is:
Kingdom Driven: 
First and foremost, Generations Church of Peyton does all things for and to the glory, honor and praise of God, starting with our own walks with the Lord.
Family Centric:
Second, Generations Church of Peyton empowers the family to be built solely upon the Rock of Salvation, by training up, encouraging, empowering parents in their walks and to make God central in their family lives.
Community Minded:
Third, Generations Church of Peyton  encounters, engages and impacts the surrounding community in order to draw others to God, through faith in Jesus Christ, guided by the Spirit of God.
